課程概述 |
The objective of this course is to teach students with the fundamentals of computers and computer nomenclature, particularly with respect to personal computer hardware and software, and the World Wide Web. Lab practices will also be accompanied to accustom students to our lab facilities (including desktop computers and workstations), to some commonly used software packages (e.g., word processing, spread sheets, and powerpoint), and to various internet applications (e.g., email, bbs, and WWW). |

Note: to read the transparencies, you need to download Acrobat Reader.
There will also be 1-2 hours lab practice every week, which focuses on the following subjects:
1. A start of Windows 98.
2. Internet applications: email, ftp, telnet, archie, etc.
3. The cyberspace---Web.
4. Introduction to Unix and X-windows.
5. Building your own homepage.
6. Graphics and image tools.
7. Microsoft Office: Word
8. Microsoft Office: Excel
9. Microsoft Office: Powerpoint
10. Miscellaneous software packages.
